Ragamuffin Hall
Ragamuffin Hall was formerly known as the McCoysville Presbyterian Church. The congregation was started in 1777 by a circuit riding preacher named William Logan. The first meetings were held in the open air, with Reverend Logan preaching under a makeshift tent. Under the direction of Reverend Thomas Smith in 1801, a log church was built about 1 mile from the current location. In 1836 a frame building was erected. When the frame building burnt down around the time of the Civil War, the congregation built a new 2 story brick structure at the cost of $10,000. It was completed in 1871. The McCoysville Presbyterian Church continued meeting there until November 20, 2022. On November 21 of the same year, Conrad Fisher took ownership of the property and renamed it Ragamuffin Hall. There is a place for everyone here.
